What you'll learn
Many accessibility principles carry into mobile, but native platforms add different constraints: users can enlarge system text, interact through touch and gestures, navigate with VoiceOver or TalkBack, and use system motion-reduction settings. In this course, UX Accessibility: Designing for Mobile, you’ll adapt the AccessFlow workflow into a cross-platform mobile accessibility specification. First, you’ll create layouts that survive iOS Dynamic Type and Android font scaling while meeting mobile touch-target and reachability needs. Next, you’ll add equivalent alternatives to gesture-dependent interactions and design motion and feedback that respect relevant system preferences. Then, you’ll map screen-reader reading order, grouping, focus, and custom actions. Finally, you’ll produce iOS and Android developer annotations and use AI to accelerate adaptation while verifying recommendations against authoritative guidance. When you’re finished, you’ll have a repeatable workflow for turning an accessible web concept into an implementation-ready mobile design without assuming desktop behavior transfers unchanged.
