vSphere 6 New Features and Changes Hello and welcome to Pluralsight. You're watching vSphere 6 New Features and Changes. In this module we'll start off by talking about what's new in host and virtual machine scalability. They really upped a lot of the numbers when it comes to the maximum configurations. From there we'll compare the maximum configurations between vSphere 5. 5 and 6, before we talk about new guest operating system support, instant cloning, ESXi security enhancements and the new Microsoft clustering capabilities in vSphere 6. We've got a lot to cover, so with that, let's get started.
What’s New in vCenter 6 Hello, and welcome to Pluralsight. You're watching What's New in VMware vCenter Server 6. Installing vSphere 6 and vCenter 6 Any time a new software application is announced, the first thing us techies want to do is download it and install it, right. In fact it's too bad that this module is actually the fourth module in this course. In some ways, I would have liked it to be the very first module in the course. But also I know that some people would like to know what's new in vSphere before they start downloading and installing. Anyway, this module is for all of you out there who want to download and install the new VMware vSphere6 and vCenter 6. So what are we going to cover. The first thing we'll talk about is the requirements that you'll need to meet in order to install VMware ESXi. That's the hypervisor. Of course it goes directly on your physical servers. From there we'll talk about the requirements to install VMware vCenter, and of course there's two two different versions of vCenter. There's the vCenter virtual appliance, and then there's the Windows version of VMware vCenter. I'll talk about where you can download the bits, and the 60 day evaluation process that's available to you if you don't already have licenses. I'll walk you through the process of installing VMware ESXi, installing VMware vCenter inside a Windows server. Adding the vSphere Host to vCenter, and creating your first virtual machine. As you can tell, we've got a lot to cover, so let's get started.
