Course Overview
Hey, this is Greg Shields, and you've found the first course in my learning path of the Windows Virtual Desktop topics and technologies that comprise the AZ‑140 exam. I am author evangelist and a full‑time author here at Pluralsight, and I've been working with virtual desktop technologies since the earliest introduction of virtual desktops. Microsoft's AZ‑140 exam is a unique specialty exam that begins with the foundational topics in the AZ‑104 Azure Associate Exam and then focuses attentions very specifically on the design, implementation, and management of virtual machines in Windows Virtual Desktop. It tests against the knowledge and experience you'll need to be successful in managing a Windows Virtual Desktop implementation in production. In this first course out of six, I'll be introducing the mission for our learning path here. We'll discuss these courses' alignment with the AZ‑140 certification and explore the virtual machines and Azure subscription you'll want to provision if you plan on following along. If you've just been tasked with designing and/or managing a Windows Virtual Desktop environment in Microsoft Azure, this course is your first stop in brushing up on those skills for success. And then from here, you'll be ready to continue on the learning path as we plan a WVD architecture, implement a WVD infrastructure, manage access and security, manage user environments and apps, and monitor and maintain a WVD infrastructure. Let's get started.
