Advanced Infrastructure Deployment and Configuration for CompTIA Linux+ (XK0-006)

Prepare for the CompTIA Linux exam by building out the backup and networking solutions for a build server. Create and configure RAID arrays and logical volumes, set up segmented networking, and deploy two build services: one using a kernel-based virtual machine and another using a Docker container. Once the services are in place, finish up the backup solution by ensuring future build artifacts can be compressed and stored redundantly on the RAID array and logical volume.

Table of Contents
  1. Challenge

    Prepare Block Devices

Practice setting up and configuring a persistent RAID array for backup storage, as well as building a logical volume solution in which to store future backup data.

  2. Challenge

    Build Segmented Network

Create an additional networking namespace and ethernet pair to isolate and route traffic from build requests, then configure internal DNS to appropriately route traffic from the segmented namespace to the build server.

  3. Challenge

Deploy Contained-based and Virtual Machine-based Build Environments

Deploy and the legacy build system by installing and utilizing a kernel-based virtual machine, then run and verify the containerized build service using Docker, ensuring it can be connected to from the internal developer network.

  4. Challenge

    Develop and Test Backup Strategy

Leverage compression tools to back up data from build services and send to the backup storage solutions created earlier in the lab.
