Automating Continuous Deployment to Kubernetes with Flux
In this hands-on lab, you'll automate deployments to Kubernetes with Flux. You'll bootstrap Flux into a cluster, sync an application from a Git repository with a GitRepository source and a Kustomization, and deliver an update with a Git commit. You'll also watch Flux reverse a manual change, then troubleshoot a failed sync from its status and events.

Access the terminal and verify the lab environment
- Connect to the lab instance with the Lab Credentials and Instant Terminal.
- Confirm the cluster, the Flux CLI, and the Git server credentials are ready.

- Bootstrap Flux against the fleet repository on the local Git server.
- Confirm the Flux controllers and the flux-system sync are ready.

Sync the catalog application from Git
- Define a GitRepository source and a Kustomization for the application.
- Commit both to the fleet repository and confirm the application deploys.

Deliver an update through Git and observe drift correction
- Ship a new release with a Git commit and verify Flux applies it.
- Scale the Deployment by hand and confirm Flux restores it from Git.

- Merge a teammate's branch and find the cause of the failed sync from the Kustomization status and events.
- Repair the repository and verify the Kustomization is ready again.
