In this activity you will create an encrypted directory using gocryptfs. This is based on the gocryptfs quickstart here: *https://nuetzlich.net/gocryptfs/quickstart/* You are working as a System Administrator and have been tasked with creating an encrypted directory using gocryptfs on a user's workstation running the CentOS Linux 7.7 operating system. You will need to log into the user's workstation remotely and complete the following tasks to accomplish this: 1. Install gocryptfs packages. 2. Create directories. 3. Initialize encrypted directory. 4. Mount filesystem.

    Install gocryptfs packages:

    $ curl -LO https://github.com/linuxacademy/content-linux-manage-troubleshoot-encrypted-volumes/raw/master/gocryptfs_v1.7.1_linux-static_amd64.tar.gz
    

    Extract files:

    $ mkdir gocryptfs
    $ cd gocryptfs
    $ tar zxvf ../gocryptfs_v1.7.1_linux-static_amd64.tar.gz
    

    Install FUSE packages:

    $ sudo yum install fuse

    For encrypted data:

    $ mkdir secret-enc
    

    For decrypted data:

    $ mkdir secret

    Initialize encrypted directory:

    $ gocryptfs -init secret-enc

    Mount Filesystem

    Mount the filesystem:

    $ gocryptfs secret-enc secret
