Getting Started in the Lab Environment

Here are the initial instructions and explanation of the lab environment. Read this while your environment is busy creating itself from nothing. Yes, this violates physics; we know. How fun!

  2. Challenge

Exploiting Unsecure Object References with File Inclusions

You have discovered that Globomantics uses file inclusion to display text to its users. You will test for a file inclusion vulnerability, to see if you can view other files on the web server.

  3. Challenge

Bypassing Access Controls Using File Upload Attacks

You have discovered that Globomantics allows its users to upload images to the web server. You will perform a check of the upload features filters to see if they can be bypassed to upload malicious files to the server.

  4. Challenge

    Exploiting Weak Session IDs

You observe that Globomantic’s website uses session IDs to control access to user sessions. You will perform a check to see if this has been implemented securely or if it can be bypassed to gain access to other user’s sessions.
