Establishing a Bounded Amazon Bedrock Invocation Pattern

In this lab, you will use the Amazon Bedrock Playground to explore how inference parameters influence foundation model behavior. You will invoke an Amazon Bedrock foundation model using a baseline inference configuration, then modify individual inference parameters to observe how they affect response length, consistency, and variability. Throughout the lab, you will compare model outputs and review operational metrics such as token usage and latency. Finally, you will examine how these same inference parameters are represented in a Python application using the Amazon Bedrock Runtime API, connecting the interactive Playground experience to a production implementation.

Table of Contents
  1. Challenge

Explore inference parameters in the Amazon Bedrock Playground

Configure and modify Amazon Bedrock inference parameters, including Maximum Output Tokens, Temperature, and Top P, then observe how these settings influence foundation model responses.

  2. Challenge

    Compare foundation model responses

Execute multiple model invocations using different inference configurations and compare response length, consistency, variability, token usage, and latency.

  3. Challenge

Relate Playground settings to production applications

Review how Amazon Bedrock Playground inference parameters correspond to the Amazon Bedrock Runtime API and understand how the same settings are configured programmatically in production applications.

Real skill practice before real-world application

Hands-on Labs are real environments created by industry experts to help you learn. These environments help you gain knowledge and experience, practice without compromising your system, test without risk, destroy without fear, and let you learn from your mistakes. Hands-on Labs: practice your skills before delivering in the real world.

Learn by doing

Engage hands-on with the tools and technologies you’re learning. You pick the skill, we provide the credentials and environment.

Follow your guide

All labs have detailed instructions and objectives, guiding you through the learning process and ensuring you understand every step.

Turn time into mastery

On average, you retain 75% more of your learning if you take time to practice. Hands-on labs set you up for success to make those skills stick.
