  1. Challenge

    Calculate Contribution Using Filter Context

In this first challenge of a series, you’ll inspect the preloaded sales model and write percent-of-total measures. The star schema and Total Sales measure are already in place, so you can focus on filter context.

  2. Challenge

    Rank and limit results dynamically

Percent-of-total shows contribution, but merchandising also wants a ranked shortlist. In this challenge you’ll rank products by revenue, keep only the top N with a measure (not a visual filter), and group everything else as Other.

  3. Challenge

    Build cumulative calculations

A ranked list still does not show how quickly revenue concentrates. In this challenge you’ll calculate a running total of revenue across the ranked product list and express it as a cumulative percentage of overall revenue — the foundation of a Pareto chart.

  4. Challenge

    Construct a Pareto analysis

You’ll turn the ranking and cumulative measures into the merchandising team’s Pareto view: product revenue as columns, cumulative percentage as a line, and a reference line at 80 percent so the SKUs that drive revenue are obvious.

  5. Challenge

    The Last Challenge

Welcome to the final challenge! This is your last chance to experiment in the environment. Clicking Finish Lab will end this little world that flittered into existence just for you.
