Improper Inventory Management
You are a security engineer at Globomantics, and during a recent security audit, you discover that a legacy, unpatched version of the user API (`/v1/users`) is still active alongside the secure API (`/v2/users`). Developed using Python and Flask, this ghost endpoint exposes the company to critical vulnerabilities. In this lab, you will discover the legacy endpoint in the codebase and implement an API deprecation strategy to retire the vulnerable routes, communicate retirement information to clients, and verify that the supported API remains operational.

You will identify unpatched legacy and experimental endpoints within the Flask application to determine the scope of improper API inventory management. By evaluating live API responses against modern API defenses, you will assess how legacy endpoints expose sensitive data and bypass authentication and authorization.

Implement an API Deprecation and Versioning Strategy
You will establish an API deprecation and versioning strategy within the Flask application to gracefully decommission unpatched legacy and experimental routes. By unregistering obsolete blueprints and broadcasting standard deprecation headers, you will eliminate improper inventory exposure while guiding client integrations to the secure successor version.
