Kubernetes Log Collectors and Sample Application Deployment
Being able to effectively view and filter logs is a core piece of being able to troubleshoot successfully. In this lab, you will set up Grafana Alloy to collect logging data from a sample application you will provision. Once configured, you will generate logs on the app, verify they are being collected, and then use the Grafana UI to search and filter the ingested log data.

Deploy the sample application
Create the
storefrontnamespace and deploy the supplied application to the dedicated namespace. -

Install and configure Grafana Alloy
Add the Grafana Helm chart, then create a values file to configure Grafana Alloy. Install Grafana Alloy.

Validate log ingestion
Run the
Scripts/traffic.shscript to generate traffic, and thus logs, on the application. Then, usekubectl logsto verify these logs. Once you verify that logs are being generated, navigate to the Grafana UI and use the Explore page to search for logs in thestorefrontnamespace. Rerun the traffic script as needed to further confirm the end-to-end flow.
