  1. Challenge

Get Started in the Lab Environment

Here are the initial instructions and explanation of the lab environment. Read this while your environment is busy creating itself from nothing. Yes, this violates physics; we know. How fun!

  2. Challenge

    Enable Docker Engine

The Docker Engine package is already installed! Now, it's time for you to verify it's working, perform post-installation setup, and explore the default configuration and process architecture.

  3. Challenge

Create a Docker Context over SSH

Now that you have local access mastered--on the primary machine--you will set up access to a remote machine's Docker Engine daemon. And you'll set up what is known as a Docker context to connect over SSH to the remote daemon's unix socket.

  4. Challenge

    Secure Access to the API

SSH is definitely convenient for secure remote access to the Docker daemon. You can also open up a TCP port to access the HTTP API. And then secure that port with Mutual TLS (mTLS).

  5. Challenge

    Explore containerd

Now that you have secure access to the daemon, you will dissect it to understand the role of containerd in managing containers and images, and how it uses runc, an OCI compliant runtime.

  6. Challenge

    Enable Live Restore

It's time to toggle a feature called Live Restore. You will study what happens to containers when the Docker daemon is stopped and later restarted. You'll do this with and without Live Restore enabled.

  7. Challenge

    The Last Challenge

Welcome to the final challenge! This is your last chance to experiment in the environment. Clicking Finish Lab will end this little world that flittered into existence just for you.
