Getting Started in the Lab Environment

Here are the initial instructions and explanation of the lab environment. Read this while your environment is busy creating itself from nothing. Yes, this violates physics; we know. How fun!

  2. Challenge

Detecting Anomalous Account Activity Using SIEM Tools

In this challenge, you will use Kibana to detect abnormal account activity, including unauthorized privileged account changes and abnormal login times. This extended analysis will enhance your understanding of user behavior patterns and improve your anomaly detection skills.

  3. Challenge

Monitoring Sensitive Data Access and Identifying Suspicious Commands

In this challenge, you will use Kibana to detect unauthorized access to sensitive data and unusual commands that may indicate a security breach. In addition to detecting unauthorized access, you will also identify and analyze suspicious queries or commands that could indicate malicious activity. This includes detecting data exfiltration attempts or command execution patterns that suggest an insider threat or compromised account. You will also cross-reference these activities with prior anomalous login behaviors for a comprehensive analysis.

    The Last Challenge

Welcome to the final challenge! This is your last chance to experiment in the environment. Clicking Finish Lab will end this little world that flittered into existence just for you.
