Hey there, Gurus! Welcome to the lab! This lab will demonstrate how to troubleshoot a Terraform state sync issue. We will attempt to go through the different stages of deployment by trying to deploy our configuration and work through the state sync issue until we have successfully deployed our resources.

Challenge
Deploy Your Backend Resources
- In the terminal, once logged into your instance, change to the
s3directory. - In the
s3directory, edit theS3.tffile to either append a number or rename the bucket name in the file. - Run the
terraform fmtcommand. - Now initialize your working directory.

- Now change to the
terraformdirectory. - In the
terraformdirectory, edit themain.tffile and add insubnet_idfrom theresource_ids.txtfile. - Run the
terraform fmtcommand. - Edit the
backend.tffile and change the bucket name to the bucket name you used in theS3.tffile. - Now initialize your working directory.

terraform.tfvarsfile and uncomment theregionvalue. - Run the
terraform plan -refresh-onlycommand. - Fix the error and run the
terraform plan -refresh-onlycommand again. - Lab is complete when your resources are deployed and the sync error is gone.
