Getting Started in the Lab Environment

Here are the initial instructions and explanation of the lab environment. Read this while your environment is busy creating itself from nothing. Yes, this violates physics; we know. How fun!

  2. Challenge

Install and Set up Windows Server Backup

To start the lab, you’ll install Windows Server Backup, tune its performance, and configure a remote shared folder as the backup destination. These steps ensure efficient backups and enhance data security by storing backups offsite.

  3. Challenge

    Schedule and Perform Backup Operations

In this challenge, you’ll configure a backup schedule and perform a manual backup using Windows Server Backup. Scheduled backups provide regular protection, while manual backups ensure flexibility for on-demand data safeguarding.

  4. Challenge

Restore Files and System States from Backup

To finish off, you’ll use the Windows Server Backup Recovery Wizard to restore deleted files. You’ll simulate data loss, perform a recovery, and validate the restored files to ensure data continuity and integrity.
