    • Simulate collecting activity logs from the subscription

    Collect Virtual Machine Logs
    • Create a Data Collection Rule to collect Critical, Error and Warning System Windows Event Logs from the virtual machine.
  4. Challenge

    Review the Results
    • Confirm the AzureMonitorWindowsAgent (Microsoft.Azure.Monitor.AzureMonitorWindowsAgent) is installed on the virtual machine

    • Review the Log Analytics workspace tables and ensure that a StorageBlobLogs and Heartbeat table have been created

      Note: It might take a few minutes for all the tables to be created. If the StorageBlobLogs table is not created, you can perform a data plane operation like creating a blob container to trigger a resource log entry to be created.
