Repairing Azure Hub Route Propagation

In this lab, you'll diagnose and repair a routing fault in an Azure hub-and-spoke network where one spoke has lost access to shared services in the hub. You'll use the Azure portal to rule out a peering problem, inspect effective routes to pinpoint a misconfigured user-defined route, and apply the smallest fix needed to restore the path through the hub's network virtual appliance. Finally, you'll verify reachability and confirm that an unrelated spoke's routing is unchanged.

Table of Contents
  1. Challenge

    Confirm hub-and-spoke peering health

Reproduce the connectivity failure from Spoke A and confirm the hub-to-spoke peerings are healthy, ruling out a connection-level fault.

  2. Challenge

Inspect effective routes and identify the faulty route

Compare Spoke A's effective routes with the expected route through the hub NVA, using Spoke B as a known-good baseline, to find the misconfigured route.

  3. Challenge

    Apply the minimum route-table correction

Correct the faulty route so Spoke A's traffic to shared services flows through the hub NVA again, without changing anything else.

  4. Challenge

Verify restored reachability and confirm Spoke B is unaffected

Confirm Spoke A can reach shared services through the NVA, and that Spoke B's routing and connectivity are unchanged.
