GH-900: GitHub Foundations

Course Summary

This course builds foundational knowledge of Git and GitHub for non-developers, developers, and any GitHub user looking to strengthen their core skills. Participants work through version control fundamentals, repository management, collaboration workflows, and modern development practices including Actions, Copilot, and Codespaces. Additional topics including project management, security and administration, and open-source community engagementare also covered. The course is aligned to the Microsoft Certified: GitHub Foundations (GH-900) exam and prepares participants with the knowledge needed to prepare for the certification exam.

Prerequisites:

  • Basic familiarity with software development concepts
  • No prior hands-on GitHub experience required
