Patrick Egan is a Senior Engineering Manager in Engineering Effectiveness at Grainger, where he leads immersive learning through the Dojo and enablement practices that accelerate adoption of modern engineering capabilities. Over the past decade, he has helped Fortune 100 organizations align technology, product, and leadership to measurably improve delivery, quality, and developer experience. Patrick’s enablement journey traces back to the early evolution of the Dojo model at Target, where he helped scale practices that continue to shape enterprise modernization today. He has led organizations ranging from single one-pizza teams to product groups of more than 100 engineers. He is also the recipient of a Java software patent tied to a cash office platform that generated more than $1B annually. An educator and technologist at heart, Patrick is passionate about growing people and building cultures of continuous learning. Outside of work, he is a two-time Ironman finisher and loves traveling.

Director of Engineering Effectiveness, Grainger

Eric Chapman is Director of Engineering Effectiveness at W.W. Grainger, Inc., where he leads a cross-functional organization dedicated to improving how software is built, delivered, and scaled across the enterprise. His teams span developer experience, internal developer interfaces, engineering enablement (including Grainger’s Dojo program), quality engineering, delivery insights, and a growing generative AI (GenAI) enablement practice. With over twenty years of experience in the IT industry, Eric has helped large, complex enterprises, including Fortune 100 organizations, modernize, scale, and innovate across sectors such as financial services, health and life sciences, domestic airlines, e-commerce, and industrial services. He specializes in translating emerging technologies into scalable, outcome-driven practices that empower engineers and accelerate business transformation.
