Hi everyone, my name is Jeff Hurd and welcome to my Pluralsight course After Effects CC Creating Your First Animation.

I promise you there is no better way to learn After Effects than by getting in the program and completing a real project. In this course, we will work through a real animation project together from my client Robomantics Electronic. We’ll set a solid foundation by learning good habits, the best workflows and ultimately provide you with a complete understanding of the main features in After Effects.

Some of the major topics that we will cover include:

  • After Effects Workflows (When it comes to larger projects it becomes increasingly important to know proper workflows, and techniques to stay organized and save you an enormous amount of time)
  • 2D Character Rigging / Animation (We’ll dive into child/parent relationships as well as anchor points and rig and animate a robot character.
  • Expressions (Writing expressions in After Effects unlocks huge potential and I’ll show you some real examples of just why and how they come in so handy)
  • Effects (What is After Effects without the effects? There are so many but in this course we will dive into a few of my favorites to aid us in completing our assignment)
By the end of this course, you will be comfortable enough with After Effects to complete your own complex animation projects.

Before beginning the course, I recommend being familiar with the After Effects Fundamentals CC Pluralsight courses, but this is not a requirement.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey to learn After Effects CC the fun and easy way with the Creating Your First Animation course, at Pluralsight.
