What you'll learn

This course teaches you how to configure the Business Connectivity Service (BCS) and the User Profile Service in SharePoint 2010. You will learn about the architecture of the BCS and how to create external content types to connect to backend databases using SharePoint Designer 2010. You will also learn how to configure authentication for the BCS using the Secure Store Service. We review how to configure the User Profile Service to utilize features such as user profiles, audience targeting and MySites. The course also discusses how to configure the User Profile Synchronization Service to keep user profiles in sync with user account information in Active Directory.
