Description

When you think of project management software, you might think of Gannt charts and milestones and delivery dates. But before any of that happens, you need to sell the work, plan and resource the project, and also track time and expenses for billing purposes. That's what the Project Service Automation application is all about: end-to-end support for managing the project sales and delivery process. In this course, Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation, you’ll learn the fundamentals of this important part of Dynamics 365. First, you'll have a special focus on Opportunities, Quotes, Project Contracts, and Projects. Then, you'll become familiar with the core entities used in the Project Service application. Finally, you’ll understand how to manage a project through its entire lifecycle: selling the work, creating a detailed breakdown of work, staffing resources to the project, submitting time and expenses, and finally billing the customer. When you’re finished with the course, you’ll have a foundational understanding of Dynamics 365 for Project Service, and how to use it to sell and manage a project.

Course Overview
Hi there. My name is Amber Israelsen, and welcome to my course, Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation. I've been doing software development and training for over 16 years. During that time, I've worked on a lot of projects, some big, some small, some that I sold and managed myself, and some where I've just been a resource on the project. But all of them had a few things in common, they all needed to be sold to the customer, then planned and managed through to delivery. And that's what the Project Service application's all about, providing end-to-end support for the project sales and delivery process. In this course, you'll learn the fundamentals of this important part of Dynamics 365. You'll become familiar with the core entities used in Project Service, with a special focus on opportunities, quotes, project contracts, and projects. You'll also learn how to manage a project through its entire lifecycle, selling the work, creating a detailed breakdown of work, staffing resources to the project, submitting time and expenses, and finally billing the customer. When you're finished with the course, you'll have a foundational understanding of Dynamics 365 for Project Service and how to use it to sell and manage a project. This course targets end users of the Dynamics 365 for Project Service application. A secondary audience is super users, customizers, administrators, and developers who need to better understand how things work out of the box, so you can more effectively customize the system. Prior to watching this course, you should've watched my other course on Pluralsight called Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement: Getting Started. I hope you'll join me on this journey in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Project Service, at Pluralsight.
