Course Overview
Hi everyone. My name is Liam Cleary, and welcome to my course, Microsoft 365 Security: Managing Governance and Compliance Features. I'm the CEO and owner at SharePlicity, as well as a Microsoft MVP and a Microsoft Certified Trainer. As an IT administrator, you have deployed a Microsoft 365 tenant. The tenant has been running for a while, allowing all of the end users to add content and work successfully. Recently, however, you were notified of potential compliance issues within the tenant and you need to ensure that the best security and compliance controls are enabled, along with alerting, auditing, logging, and reports. The Security and Compliance portals, along with the service‑specific configuration allow you to enable the correct compliance controls. Knowing which control to use and when is critical to the overall tenant compliance. In this course, we're going to walk through the governance and compliance features provided by Microsoft 365. Some of the major topics that we will cover include configuring and analyzing security reporting, managing and analyzing audit logs and reports, managing data governance and retention, managing data privacy regulation compliance, and managing search and investigation. By the end of this course, you'll understand how to use the out‑of‑the‑box governance and compliance features within Microsoft 365. You need previous Microsoft 365 administration experience for this course, as well as a basic understanding of how retention and compliance work within an organization. From here, you should feel comfortable diving into overall Microsoft 365 management with courses on Microsoft 365 Security: Identity and Access Implementation and Management, Microsoft 365 Security: Threat Protection Implementation and Management, and Microsoft 365 Security: Information Protection Implementation and Management. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn how to use the governance and compliance features within Microsoft 365 with the Microsoft 365 Security: Managing Governance and Compliance Features course, at Pluralsight.
