Course Overview
Hi, everyone. My name is Casey Ayers, and welcome to my course, Communicating Effectively in Project Environments. Project teams simply can't succeed without being able to communicate. Too often, though, teams don't take a mindful approach to this important subject. In this course, you'll learn how to manage communications effectively. First, you'll learn more about the science of communication and how you can distinguish between your team's internal and external communication priorities. Then, you'll learn how to select the best types and methods of communication to fit various project needs. After that, you'll learn how to develop a communications management approach that empowers your project team, whether you're taking an agile, waterfall, or hybrid approach to your project. Finally, you'll learn what unique skills and traits related to communication effective leaders exhibit and work continuously to improve. By the end of this course, you'll have a firm understanding of the critical role communications play in project success and know how to manage your project's communication needs thoughtfully and skillfully. Before beginning this course, you should be familiar with some of the principles of project management in general in order to better relate to the material that we'll discuss. This course is part of several series here at Pluralsight, including our series on Project Management, which can help you prepare for the PMP and other certification exams, as well as our Agile Transformation for Leaders and Team Members series. This course can also help you earn continuing education credits toward project management certifications and is a great resource for you, even if you're just looking to learn more about project management. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn how you can better further your project's objectives and work with all of your initiative stakeholders with Communicating Effectively in Project Environments, here at Pluralsight.
