Description

Whether you're new to Configuration Manager, or have worked with its many versions, you're surely aware of how complex a beast any SCCM implementation can be. The reach of this solution is so broad, and also so deep, that you almost have to know everything about SCCM to truly appreciate anything about it. Complicating the job of understanding SCCM is that most of the learning available today tends to focus on installing SCCM, but there's precious little that helps you understand how to actually use it once in production. Helping you understand both SCCM's installation and its everyday usage is the mission of this learning path. This course is the first of seven. In this course, SCCM Current Branch: Introduction, you'll get an introduction to SCCM "Current Branch" which is a fancy term for "whatever SCCM version is current, currently". First, you'll start with a high-level overview. Next, you'll explore the very subtle alignment between the content in these courses and what you'll need to know for the 70-703 Microsoft certification exam. Finally, by the end of this course, you'll get to know the virtual machines you'll want to build if you plan on following along.

Course Overview
Hey. This is Greg Shields, and you've found the first course at my learning path on the installation and every day use of System Center Configuration Manager current branch and its integration with Microsoft Intune. I am author evangelist and a full-time author here at Pluralsight, and I've been building, managing, and helping others with SCCM since its earliest days as SMS version 1. 2. Whether you're new to Configuration Manager or have worked with its many versions, you're surely aware of how complex a beast any SCCM implementation can be. The reach of this solution is so broad and also so deep that you almost have to know everything about SCCM to truly appreciate anything about it. Complicating the job of understanding SCCM is that most of the learning content available today tends to focus on the installation of this product, but there's precious little that helps you understand how to actually use it once in production. Helping you understand both SCCM's installation and its every day usage is our mission in this learning path. In this first course out of seven, I'll be introducing SCCM current branch, which is a fancy term for whatever SCCM version is current currently. We'll discuss the very subtle alignment between the content in these courses and what you might need to know for the 70-703 Microsoft certification exam. And we'll explore the virtual machines you'll want to build if you plan on following along with the demonstrations. If you've just been tasked with building a new Configuration Manager environment this course is your first stop in brushing up on those skills for success. And then from here, you'll be ready to continue on the learning path as we install, configure, and maintain a primary site, deploy clients and manage inventory, deploy and manage applications, deploy and maintain operating systems, support internet-based clients and on-premises MDM, and support Intune hybrid MDM and co-management. Let's get started.
