This course introduces the open source customer relationship management application SugarCRM 6.x, a freely available software (Community Edition) that manages clients with respect to targeted sales, marketing and support activities, with a highly customizable and configurable web platform. The course will introduce the basic aspects of the application, including installation, configuration, marketing campaign management, and basic customization.

Working with SugarCRM
Hi, welcome back to this fifth module of the course on SugarCRM community edition. In this module, we will see how to actually work with SugarCRM in the real world. We will establish a strategy. We will see how the system works as a unified database also, how it helps you design, create and manage marketing campaigns and finally, how it all comes together with the activities and collaboration tools. As with any system, especially those like SugarCRM which have a lot of functionalities, the first thing we need to do is to establish a strategy for our company Marketing Fusion so that we know exactly how the system will help us accomplish our objectives or help us automate some processes for making our teams work more efficient. As we saw earlier, our company, Marketing Fusion requires the system to have a consolidated view of its contacts and to have an automated campaign manager. So let's establish a strategy for both calls. For the first one, we will use SugarCRM as the unified database in order to have a contact repository. This will be achieved by registering first the company that the organization has a relationship with in the accounts section and then we will proceed to register the contact that will go with this account. We will also use targets and targets lists to plan and launch marketing campaigns and to generate leads and finally, all the efforts will be coordinated among the users through the activities and collaboration sections by managing the calendar, the calls, the meetings and the tasks.
