Description

Today's Workspace ONE, powered by AirWatch, arrives as a combination of several different products: VMware Identity Manager, VMware Unified Endpoint Management, and in some cases, VMware Horizon. These very different solutions mean that any AirWatch implementation begins first with a series of integrations.

In this second course out of five, VMware Workspace ONE: Create a Tenant and Integrate Identity Providers, you'll create your first Workspace ONE tenant in the cloud. First, you'll explore the various interfaces that configure Identity Manager and Workspace ONE UEM. Next, you'll create and configure your first directory in Identity Manager and prepare Identity Manager for integration with Workspace ONE UEM. Finally, you'll install UEM's on-premises component, the AirWatch Cloud Connector, and integrate your on-premises Active Directory with UEM and UEM with Identity Manager. By the end of this course, you'll be able to integrate Identity Manager with Workspace ONE UEM and then Workspace ONE UEM with on-premises Active Directory.

Course Overview
Hey, this is Greg Shields, and you found the second course in my learning path on the configuration and use of VMware Workspace ONE powered by AirWatch. I am author evangelist and a full-time author here at Pluralsight, and I've been managing desktops and mobile devices since the earliest days of, well, desktops. Today's Workspace ONE powered by Air Watch arrives as a combination of several different products, VMware Identity Manager, VMware Unified Endpoint Management, and in some cases, VMware Horizon. These very different solutions mean that any AirWatch implementation begins first with a series of integrations. In this second course out of five, you'll create your first Workspace ONE tenant in the cloud. Then you'll explore the various interfaces that configure Identity Manager and Workspace ONE UEM. You'll then create and configure your first directory in Identity Manager, and prepare Identity Manager for integration then with Workspace ONE UEM. Finally, you'll install UEM's on-premises components, the AirWatch Cloud Connector, and integrate your on-premises Active Directory with UEM and then UEM with Identity Manager. If you've just been tasked with building a new or managing an existing Air Watch environment, this course is your next stop in brushing up on those skills for success. And then from here you'll be ready to continue on the learning path as we manage Windows desktop devices, manage iOS and Android devices, and integrate VMware Tunnel and Content Gateway. Let's get started.
