Create a Document There are many ways to create new documents in Word. If you just want to start from a clean, blank page, the easiest way is to open up Microsoft Word from your OS. I am using Windows 10, and I have Word pinned right down here to my taskbar. And when you open up Word 2019, you will be taken to this welcome screen, which acts as a kind of launch pad. And here right in the center, you'll see Blank document, that's exactly what we want. And that is the easiest way to create a new blank document. Just click that button, and voila, you can just start typing. Now if you already have a document open, or you've been working and typing for awhile, and you'd like to create another new blank document, you can go up to your File tab, and click on New, and you'll see that window again, there it is, Blank document. You can click on that to create a new one, or you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctr+N to create very quickly a brand new blank document. So there you go, three ways to create a new blank document in Microsoft Word.
