Pluralsight Opens Second-Annual Create the Future Awards

Apr 23, 2019

SILICON SLOPES, Utah — Pluralsight, Inc. (NASDAQ: PS), the enterprise technology skills platform, today announced that it is now accepting submissions for its second-annual Create the Future Awards, which recognizes the organizations and individuals who are creating technology-based innovations that will change the future.

The Create the Future Awards provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs and start-ups to pitch their technology solution or service for a chance to secure funding. This year, participants may enter to compete in one of two categories: Tech for Good and Disruptive Tech. A winner from each category will be named and announced from the mainstage of Pluralsight LIVE on August 29. The winner of Tech for Good will receive $50,000 while the winner of Disruptive Tech will receive a $50,000 investment from Pluralsight co-founder and CEO Aaron Skonnard.

“When we launched Create the Future Awards last year, we were inspired by the challenges entrepreneurs were solving with technology. Technology makes the impossible possible,” said Aaron Skonnard, co-founder and CEO of Pluralsight. “We are proud to bring the program to Pluralsight LIVE for a second year, and we look forward to seeing—and supporting—this year's new and breakthrough ideas."

The top six finalists will be notified on August 14. Each finalist will receive two full-access passes to Pluralsight LIVE 2019, travel and hotel accommodations for two, and two one-year subscriptions to Pluralsight. The finalists will also secure dedicated space at Pluralsight LIVE Exchange to showcase their products or services.

Finalists will pitch their ideas to the judges—a board of technology industry experts—and be evaluated on impact, creativity, opportunity, functionality and team on August 27 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, in front of an audience of CTOs, CIOs and technologists from some of the world’s biggest companies.

"Winning the Create the Future Awards last year really fueled our mission, to help trafficking survivors obtain a sustainable income through coding," said Jessica Hubley, co-founder and CEO at AnnieCannons, Inc. "The grand prize funded a full class of 10 students. In our last class, 100 percent of students got jobs using what they learned, and 60 percent now do application development work for us—so this opportunity is huge. Sharing our story at Pluralsight LIVE also created awareness for AnnieCannons, our cause and the opportunity for all human trafficking survivors to start a new and fulfilling chapter in their lives."

Entries to Create the Future Awards may be submitted now through June 23, 2019. To learn more and apply, visit https://www.pluralsight.com/live/pitch.
