Jess Alvarez

I never thought I would ever work in the tech industry, but took my customer service skills to a phone position at a tech company. From there, I dove into Linux and AWS. As I learned more, I climbed through the ranks and became an AWS Cloud Administrator working on hundreds of very different kinds of environments. I made it a point to try to teach others when and where I could. From there, I jumped over to government tech and gained many other skills including working with Docker, Ansible, etc. It was then that I decided to jump into spreading the knowledge I had gained more directly and joined A Cloud Guru. Here I am now getting teach the next wave of technologists and cloud gurus! It is my goal to ensure that more people realize that there is a place for them in tech if they are willing to work for it and remember deep breaths and baby steps! Keep being awesome, gurus!

Faye Ellis

Faye Ellis is Principal Training Architect, specialising in AWS, responsible for the AWSCertified Developer Associate, SysOps Administrator Associate and Security Specialty courses. Her other courses include Hands-On Troubleshooting With AWS, Hands-On Chaos Engineering, and EKS Basics. She also researches, writes and presents AWS This Week, a YouTube show designed to summarise the latest AWS updates. Faye has worked in the IT industry for around 20 years, working in SysOps, DevOps and Architecture roles with mission critical systems across a wide range of industries including financial services, telecommunications, government and healthcare. Faye is super passionate about cloud technology and understands firsthand how important it is to keep your skills up to date so that you can get to work on the coolest projects out there.

David Blocher

David has always had an interest in learning and teaching complex systems. Before he was working with AWS, he spent his days learning and teaching board games at his local board game cafe in hometown Columbus, OH. Over the last six years working in tech, he has gone from a self-taught Ruby developer to a 4x AWS certified senior consultant in cloud technologies, and now a Training Architect at Pluralsight. David holds both professional-level AWS certifications and is passionate about helping people unlock their career potential through learning cloud skills. When he's not building courses, you can find David out hiking around Seattle with his wife Myia and his dog Oliver, or inside playing board games or role playing games.

Michael Cassidy

Michael Cassidy is a DevOps professional most interested in infrastructure as code. Specifically Terraform. He has a passion for building scalable and efficient production architectures. When not busy with technology, Michael loves coaching others on fitness and wellness. It's a passion of his to inspire people to lead healthier lifestyles and feel their best. Especially those in tech.
