Course Overview Hi everybody, and welcome to this course, PRINCE2 Basics for PRINCE2 Agile. My name is Tommy van Schaik, a practitioner and student of the fine discipline of agile methods and project management. Combining the strengths of the PRINCE2 project management method with agile techniques and frameworks requires us to first have a basic understanding of the PRINCE2 concepts. This course is part of the PRINCE2 Agile learning path and will teach you the added value of PRINCE2 Agile, how PRINCE2 and agile make a good mix, and the fundamental PRINCE2 concepts. At the end of this course, you will have enough fundamental knowledge about the core PRINCE2 concepts to continue with the rest of this learning path where we will then focus on tailoring these concepts so that we can take advantage of mixing agile with the PRINCE2 method. Now let's go ahead and get started with this course, PRINCE2 Basics for PRINCE2 Agile, here at Pluralsight.
Getting Certified Hi everybody, and welcome to this module on getting certified for PRINCE2 Agile. PRINCE2 Agile notes two certifications, the Foundation and a Practitioner certification. Now, certifications have the benefit of formalizing your knowledge, so you get to show to the world that you have the knowledge and know-how to apply PRINCE2 Agile in your projects. Organizations also benefit from certifying their employees because once there are more people certified in PRINCE2 Agile, you develop a common way of working and a common language between project managers and people in the organization. In this module, we will look at how you can get certified, what the exams look like, and what the specific requirements are for each of the PRINCE2 Agile certifications. So we'll approach this module as follows. First, we'll look at why it's important to get certified and what type of certification best fits your specific situation. Then we will look at ways you can get the PRINCE2 Agile certification, we will zoom in on the specifics of the Foundation exam and certification, and also the Practitioner exam and certification. Now as you will soon find out, the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certification only lasts for three years, so in the last clip, we will look at how you can maintain your certification, either by retaking the exam or by joining the PRINCE2 membership program. Alright, so let's get started on this module.
The Core of PRINCE2®: Principles Hi everybody, and welcome to this module on the PRINCE2 Principles. When the UK's government of commerce did research on a project management method because they noticed that a lot of projects were failing, they noticed seven key areas that usually determine the success rate of projects. So they came up with seven PRINCE2 principles to make sure that projects score high in these critical areas. So let's take a look at these principles and how they fit in an agile context. So we're going to approach this module as follows. We're going to present you with the seven PRINCE2 principles, and then we're going to go through all of them. Continued business justification principle, the learn from experience principle, defined roles and responsibilities, manage by stages, manage by exception, focus on products, and tailor to suit the project environment. Now remember, PRINCE2 principles cannot be tailored. They are something that need to be present in any PRINCE2 project. However, when we look at an agile environment, we need to make sure that we adhere to these principles and still keep the project as agile as possible. In this module, we will go into the PRINCE2 principles in general, and later in this learning path, we will go into detail about how you can tailor the project to be agile and still adhere to these PRINCE2 principles. Now let's go ahead and get started on this module.
The PRINCE2® Organization and Roles Hello, and welcome to the module, PRINCE2 Organization and Roles. In a project, it turns out that you need specific roles and structures in order for a project to become an efficient way of delivering products. PRINCE2 covers this organization and roles in the organization team. However, because it's such an important topic for the total overview of PRINCE2, we have decided to make a complete introduction module on the organization and roles within a PRINCE2 project. Alright, so the module will look like this. First, we're going to look at the difference between business as usual and projects. Business as usual are the normal operations for an organization, and projects are there to create changes in the organization. Then we'll explain the difference between programs, projects, and portfolios. Then we'll look closely at the PRINCE2 project organization, and then we'll look at the specific roles in a PRINCE2 project organization and what each of these roles entail in a project. And finally, we'll look at some key areas in which we have to mix agile roles with the PRINCE2 roles and how we are going to cover that in the rest of the learning path. So let's go ahead and get started on this module on the PRINCE2 project organization and roles.
An Overview of the PRINCE2® Processes Hi everybody, and welcome to this module on the Overview of the PRINCE2 Processes. PRINCE2 processes tell you what needs to happen in a project and who is responsible for different actions in a project. Now these processes are general processes that are present in every project, but once again, you need tailor these processes in order to fit the environment. So, when looking at PRINCE2 Agile, we definitely need to tailor these processes in order to fit an agile project. So in this module, we're going to look at the basics of the PRINCE2 processes. And we're going to approach this module as follows. First, we're going to explain what the PRINCE2 processes are and how they are set up. And then we're going to go through all the processes, starting with the starting up a project process, directing a project process, initiating a project, managing a stage boundary, controlling a stage, managing product delivery, which is most subject to tailoring in an agile environment, and closing a project. Alright, so that's the plan. So let's go ahead with an introduction to the PRINCE2 processes.
Learning About the PRINCE2® Themes Hi everybody, and welcome to this module, Learning About the PRINCE2 Themes. In this module, we're going to introduce you to the PRINCE2 themes, and they give you the concepts you need to adhere to the PRINCE2 principles. And we're going to zoom in on some things you have to keep in mind when tailoring these themes for an agile project. Now later in this learning path, we will take a deep dive into each of the PRINCE2 themes. But this will be a general overview to get you familiar with the PRINCE2 themes and the way you should tailor them in an agile project. And this module is set up as follows. First, we'll start with the basics of PRINCE2 themes, and then we're going to go through all of the PRINCE2 themes. So that's the business case theme, the organization theme, the quality theme, plans theme, risk theme, change theme, and the progress theme. All right, so let's get started on this module.
