What You'll Learn
  • 1. Configure and validate Compute Engine workloads, including instance configuration, access paths, lifecycle actions, reusable deployment patterns, and common recovery steps
  • 2. Operate autoscaled and managed compute patterns using managed instance groups, an external Application Load Balancer, Cloud Run functions invocation behavior, and Cloud Run service health signals
  • 3. Recognize when Compute Engine, Cloud Run functions, Cloud Run services, or Google Kubernetes Engine best fits a workload based on control requirements, operational burden, scaling model, and container orchestration needs.
Prerequisites
  • You should be comfortable navigating the Google Cloud console and understand foundational Google Cloud concepts such as regions, zones, IAM roles and service accounts, VPC networks, subnets, firewall rules, Persistent Disks, and basic Cloud Monitoring metrics. This path assumes practitioner-level Google Cloud fluency and is designed for learners moving toward cloud engineering, infrastructure operations, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or architecture roles that require a dependable working knowledge of Google Cloud compute services.
