This course will present you with a deep dive into the PRINCE2® change theme where we will learn the details about the way PRINCE2® handles changes to a project. In most projects the environment and the requirements are prone to changes. These can either be planned changes that go through a formal change process or issues that arise during the project that require management attention. PRINCE2® uses the issue and change control procedure and configuration management as tools to streamline these issues. The aim of the PRINCE2® change approach is not to avoid changes but to make sure that changes have the best possible impact on the project upon implementation. After this course you will be familiar with all concepts involved with PRINCE2®’s approach to change and you will be able to implement these concepts into your own projects, to ensure the best possible impact on the outcome of your project. Course Overview
Hi everyone, and welcome to this course PRINCE2, The Change Theme, where we zoom in on PRINCE2's approach to handling changes in a project. My name is Tommy van Schaik, and I currently work as a project manager for the Dutch government. PRINCE2 is a project management method based on gathering years of best practices from commercial and government organizations around the world. This course is the seventh course in the PRINCE2 Practitioner Learning Path. This learning path is a 12-course journey that will get you ready to pass your PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner exams. During the lifecycle of a project, there are usually many changes to both the environment and the requirements of the project. The PRINCE2 Change Theme helps to streamline these changes, so they are implemented with the best possible impact on the project. The course will focus on setting up the controls to streamline the procedures regarding change management throughout the project, how we keep track of the products in our project using configuration management, and how to streamline the issues and changes in a project using the issue and change control procedure. By the end of this course, you will have detailed knowledge on the PRINCE2 Change Theme, and how to practice configuration management, and deploy the issue and change control procedure in your own projects. Preparing Controls
Hi everyone, and welcome to this module where we will focus on setting up the controls for handling changes in the project. This is where we look at the tools and techniques, procedures and responsibilities that need to be in place in order for the project to be ready to handle changes that form as the project progresses. Central to this step in the PRINCE2's approach to change is the configuration management strategy, where all the prerequisites for having good configuration management and an effective issue and change control procedure are described. So in this module, we are first going to discuss how we will establish controls, and how this fits in with the rest of the PRINCE2 change approach. Then we will look at the different topics covered in the configuration management strategy document, which is the central document in setting up controls for the change procedure. First we will look at how you can identify the procedures, tools, and techniques that might be in place in the program, corporate organization, or industry you are working in. Then we will look at setting up the prerequisite for configuration management. We will also look at setting up a scaling system to determine the severity and priority of issues your project comes across. We will discuss the change authority mandate, where the project board decides who on the project will allow to accept and reject changes to the project, usually depending on the severity of the specific issue. And lastly, we will look at the change budget, which is a budget that is reserved for handling changes to the project. Alright then, let's get started on this module.

Issue and Change Control Procedure
Hi everyone, and welcome to the last module of this course, where we will finally discuss the issue and change control procedure that you can use to streamline the change process within your project. This procedure makes sure that all changes are approved by the appropriate authorities in the project, increasing your control of the changes that will appear as the project progresses. The issue and change control procedure consists of five steps, which we will follow in order, capture, examine, propose, decide, and implement. Alright, so let's get started on this last module.
